Hello and welcome! My name is Tracy Gangi and I'm glad you're taking the time to find just the right therapist.   As for who I am and what I do, for over 25 years I have been dedicated to helping children, teens and adult reach their maximum potential.

I began my career in psychology as a School Psychologist, earning a Master's Degree in School Psychology in 1995.  As a School Psychologist I worked with children, teens and their parents to identify and resolve any academic/social/emotional challenges that were barriers to them. I was a pivotal team leader for Committee on Special Education meetings,  dedicated to access the federal and state support services available to those in need, becoming an impassioned advocate for them.  Therapeutically, I delivered direct care through group and individual counseling, as well as supportive counseling to school staff.

Over the course of 13 years I worked within 23 different schools, including United States military bases in Germany, schools  Arizona  as well as in Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island.  Determined to help others in other impactful ways, I returned to school to earn my  Doctorate of Psychology (2010) and in 2013 I attained NYS licensure, which enables me to diagnose and treat individual clients through private practice, and have been helping my private practice clients reach their full potential ever since.

Former clients have described me as a highly engaging and effective therapist (Healthgrades.com and RateMDs.com),  and I am an enthusiastic person with a direct approach, which my clients appreciate and find helpful. This direct approach includes goal-setting and consistently working towards achieving  specific goals in each session.

As the years went by, through in-depth reviews of the research and enhanced knowledge of neuroscience, I discovered clear evidence as to my own previously overlooked and undiagnosed Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).  This provided valuable and profound insight into understanding past challenges-now through the lens of a neurological brain difference - and helped clear away any remaining barriers I had felt impacting my own life and goal-oriented achievements! My personal experience with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) now  helps  me bring compassion and  helpful strategies to my clients who are struggling with ADHD, including accompanying comorbidities. e.g., mood disorders, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and, I am well versed and experienced in those suffering from a wide array of challenges that adversely impact their daily lives.

I've also channeled my passion to  assist others to attain their highest potential in life by encouraging neurological testing in those I suspect an underlying ADHD diagnosis.  I have recently added computerized testing which assesses different areas of the brain to ascertain each person's cognitive strengths and weaknesses. I then teach clients how to minimize  these challenges in their life and  capitalize on their cognitive strengths. The evaluations are all completed in the comfort of your own home via a secure Internet connection.

Additionally, I am excited to work with clients who are looking to get relief from their symptoms using psychedelic medicine.  I am currently continuing my education with a year long psychedelic therapy training, covering MDMA, psilocybin, and Ketamine, and, since August 2022, I have been providing Ketamine Assisted Therapy in collaboration with a double-board certified psychiatrist in Southampton, NY. Please email me for more information.

I'm  looking forward to working with you and assisting you in achieving all you are capable of and meant to achieve in this lifetime!

Kindest regards,

Tracy A. Gangi, Psy. D.
